The Agritec Centre brings together the capabilities of Wintec and the facilities of the AgResearch Farm at Tokanui to develop technological and educational solutions for agricultural based industries. Two of our most recent projects involve the development of software to replace the farm whiteboard and the exploration of smart phones and apps as a way of making sure staff have the right information to do their work, right when they need it.

The Agritec Centre peels back the layers of a world-class research farm, allowing you to explore and understand an entire farm system and its environmental footprint. Learn about the science, technologies and complex land and animal management systems that exist on a modern dairy farm.

Resources and courses suitable for secondary, tertiary, and industry students can be developed, and farmers may also take advantage of workshops that improve their understanding of new agricultural technologies and systems. We have recently presented at the South Island Dairy Event on the topic of Using your Smartphone as a Tool on the Farm. We will deliver courses across New Zealand, and we can host learners directly on farm in our purpose built learning centre.
